CYCLING – TEAM Bahrain Victorious rider Fred Wright claimed a solid top 10 finish yesterday in the 28th edition of the Hamburg Cyclassics in Germany.
The elite men’s road race was a one-day event held as part of this year’s UCI WorldTour.
Victorious rider Wright completed the 207.4-kilometre in sixth place. The Briton was part of a large bunch sprint to the finish led by winner Rory Townsend of Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team.
They were two of 36 riders in the group with identical finishing times of four hours 24 minutes and six seconds.
Amongst Bahrain Victorious’ other competitors, Australian Robert Stannard was 53rd overall, Slovenian Matevz Govekar came 63rd, Italian Alberto Bruttomesso finished 88th, and Kamil Gradek and Phil Bauhaus were 112th and 113th, respectively. Teammate Matej Mohoric did not finish.
