A nationwide campaign to raise awareness about childhood cancer and social support to affected families was launched during a special ceremony.
The Smile Initiative's ‘Kids Are Gold’ campaign, now in its 12th edition, kicked off on Tuesday, with 20 children working together with noted Bahraini artist Abbas Almosawi to create a large golden ribbon to mark the start of the World Health Organisation's Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, observed every September.
The Smile Initiative will be rolling out the campaign across the kingdom, at malls, health centres, Salmaniya Medical Complex, and private hospitals to raise awareness about paediatric cancer and the importance of early detection.
