CYCLING – BAHRAIN Victorious Development Team rider Thomas Capra climbed the podium yesterday as runner-up in the fourth and penultimate stage of the Turul Ciclist al Romaniei 2025, being held in Romania.
Capra was just metres behind winner Johnatan Malte Rottmann of Team Rembe-Rad Net, who spearheaded a sprint to the finish of the 212.2-kilometre leg to triumph in four hours 45 minutes 38 seconds. Samuel Quaranta of MBH Bank Ballan CSB came third.
Capra’s teammate Seth Dunwoody was also part of the leaders’ group at the end of yesterday’s leg, but he was classified 13th. Marco Andreaus followed in 21st, Leonardo Consolidani was 34th, Ahmed Naser came 40th, and Yoshiki Terada finished 57th.
Heading into today’s final stage, Consolidani was Bahrain Victorious Development Team’s best-ranked rider on the general classification in 34th.
Dunwoody, meanwhile, remained the holder of three of the race’s jerseys. He wears the polka dot jersey as leader in the points standings, the green jersey as number one in the best climber ranking, and the red jersey as the leader in the best sprinter battle.
The elite men’s road race is scheduled to conclude today with the final stage, covering just 95km starting and finishing in Bucharest.
