HANDBALL – Barbar and Al Tadhamun both emerged triumphant last night in their respective week two matches of the 2025-26 Khalid Bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League.
Barbar powered to a resounding 35-25 victory against Bahrain Club while Tadhamun edged past Al Ettihad 29-27. Both games were played at the Bahrain Handball Federation Arena in Um Al Hassam.
Barbar held a commanding 14-6 advantage at the half against Bahrain Club and maintained their strong play across the concluding 30-minute period for their big win.
Tadhamun, on the other hand, needed to battle back from a 13-15 deficit at the break to eke out their narrow result.
With those outcomes, Barbar and Tadhamun joined Al Ahli and Al Ettifaq as winners so far in the new season’s second match week.
There are 11 clubs competing for the Khalid bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League title. The others are defending champions Al Najma, Al Dair, Al Shabab, Samaheej, and Tubli.
Matches are to be played in a double round-robin, after which the top four clubs will advance to the Super League, which will eventually determine the season’s overall champions.
The teams ranked fifth through eighth will qualify for the lower-tier President’s Cup.
Week two is scheduled to conclude today with a lone fixture. It will be a major clash between Najma and Shabab, scheduled for a 7pm start at the same venue.
