FOOTBALL – Bahrain Football Association (BFA) vice-president Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa was yesterday endorsed for membership to the Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA) board of directors.
This came at the 28th UAFA general assembly, which took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
During the gathering, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal was also elected as UAFA president by acclamation, while the recommendations were confirmed for the new board members for the electoral term 2025-29.
Also as part of Bahrain’s delegation in the Saudi capital were BFA board member Nayef Al Majed and BFA secretary general Rashid Alzaabi.
Shaikh Khalifa’s nomination is an expression of the general assembly’s complete confidence in his ability to make a qualitative contribution to the UAFA and to contribute to the development and advancement of the game throughout the Arab world.
Shaikh Khalifa’s nomination comes as part of the BFA’s efforts to strengthen its presence in the Arab and international football scene and leverage its expertise and competencies to serve Arab sports.
Shaikh Khalifa has a distinguished track record in sports, particularly as the current BFA vice-president.
