Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the signing of an agreement between the GSA and partners to build the administrative and services building for Maameer Club.
The signing was also attended by GSA deputy chairman Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and Shaikh Khalifa bin Khalid bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa.
The agreement was signed by CEO Dr Abdulrahman Askar on behalf of the GSA, Afaf Zainalabedin representing Bapco Energies, Mohammed Najib Al Mansour for Saraya Contractors, and Ma’ameer Club president Ahmed Ibrahim Ahmed.
The project includes a services building and car park to meet the club’s administrative and organisational needs and support its role in providing sports and community services to local residents, in line with the authority’s strategy to develop sports facilities in Bahrain.
Shaikh Khalid said the initiative reflects GSA’s efforts to support national clubs and provide a comprehensive environment that enhances both administrative and technical work.
He noted that sports clubs are a key pillar of the sporting movement in Bahrain, and that upgrading their facilities is essential to advancing institutional development and achieving sporting excellence.
