FOOTBALL – French Ligue One outfit Paris FC will be aiming to extend their two-match unbeaten run when they take on RC Strasbourg this Sunday at Stade Jean-Bouin in France’s capital.
The game is part of the fifth match week of the season and Bahrain-backed Paris FC are aiming to build on their victories in their previous two matches – first a 3-2 win at home to Metz and then a 2-1 away triumph against Brest.
Those results added to their two losses to start the new domestic campaign, as they hope to have turned the page having climbed to 11th on the 18-team Ligue One table with six points.
Paris FC, who feature the Bahrain Victorious brand emblazoned on the front of their official kit, have been spearheaded so far this season by their Algerian attacking midfielder Ilan Kebbal, who has scored three goals in four matches.
He has been ably assisted by Nigerian forward Moses Simon, who has contributed two goals to date, while the French duo of Willem Geubbels and Vincent Marchetti have added a goal apiece – both scoring in their narrow win against Brest earlier this week despite being reduced to 10 men.
Paris FC are one of five teams currently with six points heading towards the league’s next set of fixtures kicking off tomorrow.
Defending Ligue One champions and Uefa Champions League title-holders Paris Saint-Germain currently top the standings with 12 points from an undefeated record in four fixtures.
They are followed by Lille on 10 points, and AS Monaco, Lyon, and Strasbourg with nine points apiece in the top five.
