Bahrain is stepping up efforts to provide rehabilitation programmes that meet the needs of juveniles, through the Child Reform Justice Courts and the Child Protection Committee. According to the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry, such experts submitted 293 reports between January and September 2025, held 588 sessions with children, including 438 in-person hearings, and made 540 follow-up communications.
Experts explained that social reports are submitted to the court and the committee on a regular basis, and play a key role in monitoring and assessing the child’s social and psychological conditions during the execution of alternative penalties or protective measures.
Based on these findings, the court determines the continuity of the assigned measures or the possibility of replacing them with other appropriate alternatives.
