His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, yesterday met the United Kingdom’s Defence Senior Adviser to the Middle East and North Africa, Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren, and an accompanying delegation, at Gudaibiya Palace.
HRH Prince Salman affirmed Bahrain’s historic relationship with the UK, one founded on a multi-sector strategic partnership that continues to grow, particularly in the military and defence fields.
He emphasised the shared commitment of both kingdoms to continue enhancing bilateral co-operation to achieve common goals.
HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister highlighted the successful bilateral ties between Bahrain and the UK, underpinned by joint agreements such as the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), which the UK recently joined.
Agreements like these strengthen co-ordination, advance development, and create quality opportunities that benefit the peoples of both kingdoms, he said.
He also commended the UK’s vital role, alongside its allies, in reinforcing the foundations of regional and global security and stability.
Discussion covered issues of common interest, ways to bolster the bilateral partnership further, and the latest regional and global developments.
Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa also attended the meeting.
