MOTORSPORT – ADAM Al Azhari from the UAE was victorious yesterday in the second race of the opening round in the Aramco Formula Four Saudi Arabian Championship 2025, held at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.
The series, certified by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), is promoted by Altawkilat Motorsport under the supervision of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF).
Yesterday’s event delivered an exceptional level of competition, characterised by skilful driving and intense battles until the very last moment.
Al Azhari claimed the victory ahead of runner-up Theo Palmer, also from the UAE, while Dutch driver Nina Gademan took third place.
Both Palmer and Gademan stepped onto the podium for the second straight sprint at BIC but switched places. In the season-opening round’s first race on Saturday, Kit Belofsky was the victor in Sakhir, while Gademan came second and Palmer third.
Following yesterday’s race, FIA single-seater junior categories sporting director Elsa Cammilleri presented the winner’s trophy to Al Azhari, while Aramco F4 Saudi Arabian Championship sporting head Fiona Rees awarded the second-place trophy to Palmer.
Gademan was handed her trophy by Teleios X CEO Mohammed Aldossari, while Gademan also came away with the Best Female Driver Award, given to her by Cammilleri, in recognition of her outstanding performance throughout the weekend.
Another individual honour was presented to Thibaut Ramaekers, who was presented the Best Rookie Award by Pirelli motorsport manager MEAI Region Jonathan Wells.
Earlier in the day yesterday, the second qualifying session brought an atmosphere of excitement and close competition amongst the drivers. Al Azhari secured pole in the session, followed by Palmer and Ramaekers. American Ava Dobson came fourth, and Belofsky rounded out the leading five on the grid.
The Aramco F4 Saudi Arabian Championship reflects the SAMF’s ongoing commitment to supporting and empowering young national talent by creating a competitive environment that hones their skills and prepares them for participation in regional and international championships.
The 2025 season’s calendar features five rounds in total, offering a dynamic campaign that showcases both regional and international circuits. BIC will also stage the second round on Wednesday and Thursday later this week, before the action moves to Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi, for the third round on November 10 and 11.
The fourth round will take place on November 14 and 15, leading to an exciting conclusion with the final round on December 5 and 6, once again in Jeddah.
