Bahrain is committed to enhancing its investment environment and strengthening the factors that attract quality investments, it has been declared.
This process is contributing to the diversification of the national economy and expansion of private sector partnerships, Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa said yesterday.
He also underlined that these efforts are aligned with the goals of the kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad and guided by the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Shaikh Khalid highlighted the government’s continued support for major projects, particularly in the real estate development sector, during a meeting with Al Sorouh Management Company board member and Mabanee Company chief executive officer Waleed Khaled Al Shariaan.
Mabanee Company is the developer of The Avenues in Bahrain and Kuwait.
Also present was Bareeq Al Retaj Company managing director Dr Maher Abdulaziz Al Shaer.
Shaikh Khalid said the government’s continued support for major projects is creating a flexible business environment that meets investor needs and offers advanced infrastructure and legislation that promotes innovation and productivity.
These efforts, he said, help stimulate economic growth, create quality opportunities for citizens and reinforce Bahrain’s standing as a leading regional business hub.
The Deputy Prime Minister praised the strong and long-standing relations between Bahrain and Kuwait, describing them as a model of deep-rooted ties that continue to grow across various development fields.
He commended joint private sector projects between the two countries as successful examples of productive economic co-operation.
He also highlighted The Avenues – Bahrain as a leading example of effective public-private partnership, reflecting the optimal use of government land to drive economic growth.
He noted the mall’s prominent status among Bahrain’s commercial centres, offering an integrated shopping and leisure experience with major international brands that enhance its appeal as a key commercial and tourism destination, especially following the completion of its second phase.
Shaikh Khalid was briefed on the company’s expansion plans for The Avenues – Bahrain and its future projects in the kingdom and the wider region.
Mr Al Shariaan expressed his appreciation to the Deputy Prime Minister for the government’s support and facilitation of investment projects that provide the private sector with a favourable environment for growth and expansion.
He affirmed the company’s keenness to enhance its presence in the Bahraini market through the implementation of more high-quality projects in the near future.
