The prestigious Bahrain International Trophy has been upgraded to a Group One race with its prize money being increased to $1.5million, Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) have announced.
This year’s horseracing spectacle, first held in 2019, takes place on November 13 at REHC in Sakhir.
Following its promotion, it will be the first-ever Group One race to be staged in the kingdom.
Group One events in horseracing are at the highest-level of the sport internationally, featuring the finest contenders and carrying the largest prize purses.
