Hosts Melbourne City fought back to claim a late 2-1 win over Buriram United on Tuesday as the Australian outfit secured their first win in this season's Asian Champions League Elite.
Max Caputo scored seven minutes into injury time to earn three points for the A-League champions after City forward Elbasan Rashani had struck in the 84th to cancel out Goran Causic's opener for the Thai side.
"Going into this game we had no points so we knew we needed to win here at home," said Caputo. "It was a hard-fought one against Buriram, they're a strong outfit but we got over the line towards the end."
Causic slammed the ball into the top corner from close range to give Buriram the lead 72 minutes into a tepid encounter that sprung to life in the dying minutes as City fought back.
Rashani struck with six minutes remaining, scoring his side's first goal in this season's competition after Aziz Behich's cross from the left.
Caputo then poked home the winner, reaching out at full stretch to steer Nathaniel Atkinson's pass into the area beyond the dive of goalkeeper Neil Etheridge.
The win moves Melbourne City level on three points with Buriram after three rounds of the 12-team eastern league phase, from which eight teams progress to the knockout rounds in March.
Ulsan HD put their domestic problems behind them to pick up a 1-0 win over J-League outfit Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Kim Min-hyeok heading the game's only goal in the 12th minute to move the South Koreans onto seven points.
Malaysia's Johor Darul Ta'zim picked up their first win with a comfortable 2-0 victory over China's Chengdu Rongcheng that takes Xisco Munoz's side onto four points.
Oscar Arribas gave JDT the perfect start when he burst into the Chengdu penalty area to fire into the bottom corner of Liu Dianzuo's goal in the fifth minute.
Nacho Mendez doubled the lead after 62 minutes with a first-time strike, the Malaysia international volleying in Jonathan Silva's cross from the left.
Japan's Machida Zelvia also picked up their first win of the campaign with a 2-0 victory over Shanghai Port, having drawn their previous two matches in the competition.
Defender Fu Huan netted an own goal as he tried to prevent Shota Fujio from bundling the ball over the line after goalkeeper Chen Wei kept out the striker's 12th minute header.
Yuki Some added a second for Machida 13 minutes later, cutting in from the left to beat Chen with a right foot shot from the edge of the area that found the bottom corner.
