EQUESTRIAN – HIS Majesty King Hamad’s humanitarian work and youth affairs representative and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa met International Equestrian Federation (FEI) president Ingmar De Vos.
The meeting was attended by SCYS first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa; Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) vice-president and Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) High Committee deputy chairman Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa; Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) president Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa; FEI Regional Group Seven president Sultan Mohammed Al Yahyai; and BOC secretary general Faris Al Kooheji.
Shaikh Nasser received the FEI’s Golden Badge of Honour, awarded in recognition of his achievements since his first participation in the world championships in Germany in 2006, and his efforts in promoting equestrian sports regionally and internationally.
The award, granted under Article 132.2 of the FEI’s general regulations, is based on cumulative international participation and the achievements of riders and equestrian leaders worldwide.
Shaikh Nasser expressed appreciation to the FEI, highlighting that the accolade reflects the progress of Bahraini equestrian sport under the continued support of His Majesty King Hamad and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
On his part, De Vos expressed appreciation to Shaikh Nasser for his leading role in advancing equestrian sports, particularly endurance racing, which has become a model in the Arab world.
