FOOTBALL – THE inaugural Sparta 6’s – a first-of-its-kind six-a-side football competition hosted by the Sports and Arts Academy (Sparta) of St Christopher’s School – officially commenced last week with an impressive opening round.
Eight teams took to the field across four competitive matches. Following matchday one, four teams secured early victories, while the remaining four will look to regroup and respond in the upcoming fixtures.
Among those taking wins were Pique Blinders FC, BRC, Focus Real, and Wael Pharmacy FC. Pique Blinders edged past Saar Scorpions 5-4, BRC defeated The Green Dot 5-3, Focus Real beat Janabiyah Juggernauts 8-1, and Wael Pharmacy outplayed Saar Lions 8-0.
