BREAKING: Bahrain’s Ruslan Poltoratskii has bagged the kingdom’s first medal in the sixth Islamic Solidarity Games, currently being held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Poltoratskii won a bronze medal in the men’s under-60kg category in judo after defeating Moussa Yahaya Aboubacar from Niger in one of two contests for a share of third place.
Bahrain are competing in 19 of the Games’ 23 sports in the Saudi capital, where more than 5,000 athletes, both men and women, are representing 57 nations from around the world.
