Alba, the world’s largest aluminium smelter on one site, has been honoured with the ‘Excellence in Safety’ Award by the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) during its annual awards ceremony held at Anfield Stadium, Liverpool, UK.
The award recognises Alba’s outstanding achievements in workplace safety, including reducing total injuries by nearly 60 per cent over the past five years, fostering a bottom-up approach that ensures active employee engagement in safety initiatives, and maintaining the highest standards in safe lifting operations through continuous training and certification of its staff as lifting tackle inspectors .
