A major collaborative event aimed at empowering the entrepreneurship and SME ecosystem in Bahrain was organised by the Bahrain Development Bank (BDB).
Held at the Bahrain Chamber’s Majlis Hall, the gathering brought together key stakeholders, experts and SME owners, highlighting the critical role of these businesses in achieving Economic Vision 2030 goals. The focus was sharp: showcasing essential financing solutions, support programmes, and collaborative initiatives designed to fuel the growth of the national entrepreneurship landscape.
BDB Group chief executive officer Dalal Al Qais championed the effort, stating the event successfully strengthened the ecosystem and pledged to expand strategic partnerships to support the SME sector with comprehensive services.
BCCI vice-treasurer Waleed Kanoo reinforced the chamber’s commitment to empowering SMEs, calling them a “cornerstone of the national economy.” He stressed that the joint effort with BDB and the SME Development Society demonstrated the necessary “integration needed between stakeholders” to foster innovation.
Ahmed Al Saloom, chairman of the Bahrain SME Development Society, affirmed that supporting entrepreneurship is a “fundamental pillar in driving economic growth and creating sustainable job opportunities”, underscoring the vital nature of public-private partnerships.
The initiative featured a panel discussion exploring key opportunities for SMEs in Bahrain and highlighting ongoing efforts to nurture the ecosystem. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, enabling direct engagement between attendees and business leaders.
