During my recent trip to Government Avenue in Manama for banking purposes, I encountered a concerning issue. Upon arriving at the location last week, I parked my vehicle and proceeded to pay using the nearest parking meter. Unfortunately, I discovered that the machine was out of order.
In an attempt to comply with regulations, I walked to the next available parking meter nearby, only to find that it too was non-functional.
A passerby kindly directed me to a third machine located further down the street; however, to my disappointment, that too was out of service. After checking the area thoroughly, I realised that all parking machines on that side of the road were not operational.
As someone who is cautious about traffic violations and committed to following the rules, I found myself in a difficult position. Due to the unavailability of a working machine and in order to avoid the risk of receiving a parking fine, I had no choice but to leave the area without completing my intended business.
I kindly request the relevant traffic authorities to inspect and maintain the parking machines in this area regularly to ensure they are in proper working condition.
Functional machines not only help drivers comply with parking regulations but also support the overall efficiency of urban traffic management.
