The General Directorate of Coast Guard has apprehended three Iranian nationals for allegedly engaging in piracy and armed robbery within Kuwait's territorial waters.
The Coast Guard was alerted to the suspects when surveillance systems detected an unidentified vessel approaching the Kuwaiti maritime border. Upon being intercepted, the suspects attempted evasive manoeuvres but were swiftly captured.
Further investigations revealed the three individuals' involvement in several acts of piracy and armed assault, including a recent attack on a Kuwaiti fishing boat.
The operation was part of the Interior Ministry's ongoing efforts to safeguard Kuwait's territorial integrity, protect its economic interests, and maintain maritime security.
