The Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK) has announced its sponsorship of the British Club.
It comes as part of BBK’s continued support for civil society organisations and cultural institutions that play a vital role in fostering community engagement.
The British Club, one of the oldest and most popular expat clubs in Bahrain, has served as a social and cultural gathering point for members of the British community, expatriates and citizens alike.
BBK Group chief executive officer Yaser Alsharifi said that the club stands as one of Bahrain’s long-standing social and sporting landmarks and carries a rich heritage that reflects the spirit of coexistence and openness in the community.
“The sponsorship represents an extension of our support for institutions that enhance the well-being of citizens and residents alike, strengthen community ties, and provide an interactive environment that brings together sport and positive social engagement,” said Mr Alsharifi.
“By supporting entities that contribute to community cohesion and long-term development, we aim to reinforce the continuity of their social and cultural impact in a manner that aligns with BBK’s values, sense of social responsibility and overarching commitment to serving the community.”
British Club chairman Mark Herbert welcomed the partnership as an important step in supporting the club’s long-standing role within the Bahraini community.
“This collaboration underscores the bank’s appreciation of the club and reinforces our ability to continue offering well-structured programmes and activities that respond to our members’ expectations,” said Mr Herbert.
