THE official activities of Bahrain Sports Day will begin today at Bahrain Bay.
To be held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahrain Sports Day will feature more than 30 sporting activities and interactive events.
These are set to include team sports, open fitness sessions, competitions, and dedicated activities for children and families, alongside awareness corners promoting public health and physical activity.
The GSA confirmed that all organisational preparations have been finalised at Bahrain Bay, with open spaces equipped to accommodate a large number of participants and supervisory teams assigned to ensure safety and smooth co-ordination.
The initiative aims to broaden community participation in sport and encourage citizens and residents to adopt physical activity as a daily practice. The GSA is inviting the public to take part in the open and free events.
The government has also designated today as a half working day for public sector employees to encourage participation in the activities.
