Bahrain's First XV rugby team take on the Dubai Dragons First XV this evening as they look to maintain their undefeated run in the 2025-26 Men’s West Asia Premiership.
The kingdom’s representatives are away to the Dragons for the match, which is scheduled for a 6.30pm kick-off, Bahrain time.
It is the Bahraini team’s penultimate fixture of the league’s regular season, and they will be aiming to extend their 10-match winning streak.
The First XV are currently in first place on the standings with their 10 victories, while the Dragons follow right behind in second place with six wins from nine outings.
Bahrain Rugby Club (BRC) announced yesterday the squad list for tonight’s clash. The team’s roster features Matthew McKee, Lindsey Gibson, Andries De Kock, Aled Morris, Tian Jacobs, Rhys Fitzgerald, Charlie Farmer, Ethan Macdonald, Romeo Eksteen, Cormac Fox, Josh Petro, David Evans, Greg Heath, Gregor Smith, Jack Hocking, David Ofori-Manteaw, Cameron Thomson, Awethu Lushozi, Alastair Crombie, Kenta Kutsuna, James Newey.
Adam Wallace is the director of rugby, Gibson the forwards coach, Jack Parry is the scrum and defence coach, Ross Preedy the backs coach, and Heath the strength and conditioning coach.
Following today’s fixture, the Bahrain First XV play their final game prior to the semi-finals at home on Friday next week against Doha’s First XV, who are bottom of the table.
The Bahrainis are looking to finish the premiership’s preliminary round unbeaten for the second straight season, and they hope to carry over their winning ways in the semi-finals and final, both of which are currently scheduled for early April.
