His Majesty King Hamad received a telephone call from Al Azhar Grand Imam Dr Ahmed Al Tayyeb.
The Grand Imam condemned the Iranian attack targeting the territory of Bahrain, emphasising the importance of Arab and Islamic countries’ solidarity in safeguarding sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
He commended the kingdom’s role in promoting moderation, tolerance and coexistence, wishing His Majesty and the people of Bahrain blessed returns of the holy month of Ramadan.
The King affirmed that the people of Bahrain are peaceful and believe in tolerance and coexistence, and that the kingdom remains committed to the path of peace and supports all that strengthens security and stability in the region and the world.
His Majesty expressed deep appreciation for the sincere support conveyed by the Grand Imam towards Bahrain.
