The Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa has affirmed that the security forces possess advanced defence systems, modern military equipment and sophisticated combat capabilities to protect the kingdom’s airspace, waters and land.
“BDF personnel, weapons and equipment are comparable to those of advanced armed forces, and are dedicated to safeguarding Bahrain’s security, independence and sovereignty,” he affirmed during a review of the latest operational developments and readiness levels across all services and units with senior officers.
The BDF yesterday destroyed 74 missiles and 92 drones launched in the course of Iran’s brutal terrorist aggression against the kingdom, the General Command announced.
It affirmed that all defence systems remain at the highest state of readiness and constant alert to counter any threats, and will continue to serve as an impenetrable shield against anything that endangers the security and stability of Bahrain or seeks to violate its national sovereignty.
The Commander-in-Chief expressed pride in the support of His Majesty King Hamad, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the ongoing follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister. He said the high level of combat readiness demonstrated by the BDF reflects this royal support and the commitment of its personnel to defend every part of the kingdom’s territory with determination.
He commended the air defence units for their role in countering Iranian attacks that violate the principles of international humanitarian law and continue to target the kingdom with missiles and drones in a random and hostile manner.
Since the start of the attacks on Saturday, BDF personnel have acted with high operational efficiency and professionalism in confronting the unjustified and dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability and has caused damage to civilian infrastructure, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa said.
“BDF forces have succeeded in destroying and intercepting the majority of missiles and drones launched at various areas, preventing greater loss of life and property, he said, expressing pride in BDF personnel’s high level of readiness and vigilance shown in protecting Bahrain’s skies.
He reassured the public that Bahrain’s skies remain fully protected and that incoming missiles and drones have been intercepted before reaching their intended targets.
