Cyber criminals may attempt to exploit the ongoing regional crisis by circulating fraudulent messages, malicious links and artificial intelligence (AI)-generated videos, warned the National Cyber Security Centre last night.
In an advisory, the centre urged citizens and residents to remain vigilant against online links that claim to offer breaking news, live event maps, or security updates.
It cautioned that attackers may send messages or emails impersonating government agencies or security authorities, and could disseminate fabricated videos or images created using AI technologies, including deepfakes, to incite fear or confusion.
