Bahrain reaffirmed the GCC condemnation of the Iranian aggression against GCC states during a United Nations Security Council briefing on “Energy, Minerals and Security”.
The kingdom underscored the statement issued by GCC Ministerial Council, which condemned in the strongest terms the unjustified and heinous Iranian attacks targeting GCC states and several other Arab countries.
The statement called for the immediate cessation of these attacks in order to restore security, peace, and stability in the region, and stressed the importance of safeguarding air and maritime security, ensuring the safety of regional waterways, and maintaining the stability of global energy supply chains and markets.
This came in a statement delivered by Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York Jamal Fares Al Ruwaie.
In his remarks, he welcomed the focus on the growing interlinkages between energy, critical minerals, and global supply chains, and their direct impact on international peace and security. He noted that critical minerals represent a cornerstone of modern economic development.
