The Iranian attacks in Bahrain as well as the wider conflict across the region has prompted the cancellation of a number of entertainment events.
Best-selling American classical and folk musician Josh Groban cancelled his Bahrain and Dubai concerts, originally slated for March 25 and 27, respectively.
“I’m very sorry to share that my upcoming concerts scheduled for March 25 in Bahrain and March 27 in Dubai have unfortunately been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control,” he said in a message posted on social media.
“All ticket purchases will be automatically refunded to the original payment method within 21 working days.
“I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and truly appreciate your understanding.
“I was very much looking forward to performing for you and hope to have the opportunity to return and see you all in the future.”
The musician was set to perform at Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre on March 25, as part of his ‘GEMS World Tour’.
Mr Groban added that if fans in Bahrain had any questions or needed assistance regarding their tickets, they could email info@aldana.com.bh to get in touch with the venue’s customer support.
Meanwhile, Bahraini rapper Hussam Aseem, better known as Flipperachi, whose song Fa9la went viral after its appearance in the Bollywood film Dhurandhar, has also cancelled an upcoming appearance at an Indian music festival.
Flipperachi was set to perform tomorrow at the UN40 Music Festival in Bengaluru, however organisers Saregama India posted that he would not be appearing amongst the line-up.
“In light of the current situation in the Middle East and Bahrain, Flipperachi will not be able to perform at UN40 this weekend,” the organisers added, on social media.
“While we were excited to have him on the line-up, the circumstances make it difficult for him to travel at this time.”
The Bahraini musician did not share any updates on social media regarding his India tour, which had also originally included a concert today at Phoenix Marketcity in Mumbai.
