Members of the Estidama (Sustainability) bloc officially announced the submission of their candidacy papers for the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) board of directors elections for its 31st term.
This took place yesterday at the Chamber’s headquarters in Sanabis, amid an emphasis on the importance of unifying private sector efforts to face economic challenges and promote sustainable growth.
The bloc, headed by Nabeel Kanoo, includes Mohammed Abduljabbar Al Kooheji, Nawaf Al Zayani, Yousif Salahuddin, Sonia Janahi, Sawsan Abulhasan, Abeer Al Moayed, Ahmed Al Saloom, Jameel Al Ghanah, Dr Waheeb Al Khaja,
Abdulwahab Al Hawaj, Mohammad Adel Fakhro, Shaker Al Helli, Rashad Zainal, Mohammad Nader Diwani, Hassan Bader Kaiksow, Khalid Abdulrahman Juma and Khalid Al Amin.
Mr Kanoo, the head of the bloc, stressed that the bloc’s official candidacy reflects the members’ sense of “responsibility and commitment” before the business community and members of the general assembly of the Chamber.
He noted that the current phase requires concerted efforts to maintain the stability of the commercial sector.
Mr Kanoo stated that the Estidama bloc realises that the current stage brings a series of challenges for the commercial sector, given the regional circumstances and economic changes the region is witnessing.
This necessitates strengthening joint action and effective co-ordination between the Chamber and the government to ensure the continued growth and stability of the commercial sector.
For his part, Mr Al Kooheji stressed that the priority in the current stage is to enhance co-operation and integration between the private sector and the government, especially under the geopolitical circumstances the region is undergoing.
Mr Al Kooheji explained that the Estidama bloc believes that promoting sustainable economic development requires continuous joint effort and co-ordination between the various parties concerned to prevent any potential economic repercussions resulting from regional developments.
