Community groups in Bahrain are using online platforms to support residents’ mental well-being, offering workshops aimed at helping people stay informed while remaining calm and resilient.
Today, a session titled ‘Between the Headline and the Heart’ will be held from 2pm to 3pm.
The workshop, organised by OneHeartEarth Stewardship Programme, will be led via Google Meet by EFT therapist and peacebuilding practitioner Khadija Almutawah.
Attendees will learn practical strategies to stay informed without becoming emotionally overwhelmed, as well as simple ways to recognise fear and stress signals within the nervous system during uncertain times.
Another free session – also organised by OneHeartEarth Stewardship Programme – is titled ‘Nurturing Resilience in Children During Difficult Times’ and will take place tomorrow from 2pm to 3pm. It will equip parents with practical techniques, including using their voice and presence to reduce stress, understanding neuroplasticity and applying it in supportive ways, and incorporating simple speech and play methods to help maintain a calm home environment.
“The workshop focuses on how the brain’s natural adaptability can turn stressful moments into opportunities for connection while reinforcing children’s sense of safety and fostering a positive outlook,” a representative said.
Meanwhile, the Indian Community Welfare Association recently hosted a legal awareness webinar covering wills and inheritance, power of attorney, and banking matters. The session featured ICWA chairman V K Thomas, legal co-ordinator Madhavan Kallath, and moderator and lawyer Srivani Nair.
