CYCLING – ZAK Erzen came close to climbing the podium yesterday in the 15th Grote prijs Jean-Pierre Monsere road race in Belgium.
The one-day event covered a distance of 202.5 kilometres, and Erzen was part of a bunch sprint to the finish where he was classified sixth.
Dylan Groenewegen of Unibet Rose Rockets emerged triumphant while Simon Dehairs of Alpecin-Premier Tech was the runner-up. Kamil Malecki of Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team finished third.
Amongst Bahrain Victorious’s other riders, Daniel Skerl was 30th, Thomas Capra came 34th, Alberto Bruttomesso finished 38th, Mihajlo Stolic classified 40th, and Oliver Stockwell was 117th.
