CYCLING – TEAM Bahrain Victorious rider Phil Bauhaus came close to securing a podium place yesterday in the 2026 edition of the Ronde van Limburg elite men’s road race in Belgium.
The one-day event, held as part of this season’s Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Europe Tour, featured a 178.4-kilometre course, starting from the city of Hasselt and finishing in the region of Tongeren.
Bauhaus finished fifth overall and was part of a large bunch sprint to the finish, which was spearheaded by winner Tim Merlier of Soudal Quick-Step.
Fernando Gaviria of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA was the runner-up, while Floris van Tricht of NSN Development Team came third. Gerben Thijssen of Alpecin-Premier Tech finished just ahead of Bauhaus, with the German clocking a similar time on the race classification as Merlier and 22 others.
