VOLLEYBALL – DAR Kulaib officially secured the title last night in the 2025-26 Isa Bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League.
Dar Kulaib captured the crown – with one fixture still remaining in their season schedule – following a resounding 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-19) victory over Ma’ameer in their penultimate contest of this campaign, played at Isa Bin Rashid Volleyball Arena at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
The result maintained their incredible unbeaten record after 25 outings. They have thus mathematically etched their name into first place on the league table, boasting enough of a points gap from last year’s championship winners Muharraq, who are battling to finish as runners-up as they too have one assignment left.
Dar Kulaib, coached by Ivan Joksimovic from Montenegro, have been spearheaded throughout the season by Kenyan professional Enock Mogeni, along with their talented Bahraini contingent of Hasan Al Warqaa, Mahmoud Abdulwahed, Ali Habib, Abbas Abdulla, Ali Marhoon, Ali Mohammed Abdulnabi, and Hasan Alaiwi, among others.
The newly crowned title winners will be wrapping up their league campaign on Sunday against Al Dair, in a game scheduled for a 6.45pm start at Isa Bin Rashid Volleyball Arena.
Also that night, Muharraq and Al Ahli lock horns at 8.15pm in a titanic clash between two of the kingdom’s other premier volleyball outfits. The contest will determine their final rankings on the season standings.
Both Muharraq and Ahli were also winners in their penultimate games – with Muharraq beating Al Shabab 3-0 (27-25, 25-20, 25-18) and Ahli easing past Busaiteen 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-14).
The crowning of Dar Kulaib as champions, and the presentation of awards for other winning teams, is slated for Sunday evening at the same venue, which will be the concluding night of league action.
With the Isa Bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League nearly complete, the focus this national season will shift to the 2025-26 His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s Cup.
The prestigious tournament will feature all 14 of the kingdom’s volleyball clubs in single-elimination play.
Dar Kulaib and the overall league runners-up will have berths directly in the quarter-finals. The schedule of games has yet to be released by the Bahrain Volleyball Association.
