The GCC General Secretariat has launched the GCC Legislation Platform, the first unified digital legislative platform aimed at strengthening legal integration and co-ordination among the member states, supporting decision-making, and providing a reliable source of legislative data.
The first phase of electronic integration includes Bahrain and Oman, with connectivity to the remaining member states set to be completed at a later stage.
The platform contains more than 26,000 legal and legislative documents, including laws, regulations, treaties, agreements and executive bylaws, and offers advanced search services for quick access to GCC legislative content.
Legal experts said Bahrain’s inclusion in the first phase reflects the kingdom’s advanced digital and legislative readiness, as well as its developed infrastructure for the electronic publication of legislation.
They also highlighted Bahrain’s role in advancing legal digital transformation and modernising legislative databases.
They noted that the platform represents a significant milestone in joint GCC co-operation by unifying legal references and facilitating legislative comparisons among member states.
They added that the project marks an important step towards building an integrated GCC legal knowledge system that strengthens legislative integration and supports development and co-operation across the GCC countries.
