The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Council reiterated Friday its support for Kuwait's status concerning Iranian attacks on Kuwait International Airport after discussing the country's letters of protest during its 238th session.
In a statement to KUNA, Kuwait's Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) elaborated that, following an invitation extended to its head by the President of the ICAO Council, a working paper submitted by Iran regarding its attacks on neighbouring countries was discussed.
It added that, during the meeting, a letter of protest submitted by the State of Kuwait was circulated, noting that the letter addressed Iran's repeated attacks on Kuwait International Airport, its civil facilities, and the infrastructure of civil aviation operations.
The meeting was attended by 93 representatives from member states and ICAO Council members.
The participating Kuwaiti delegation, led by the aviation authority's chairman Shaikh Eng. Humoud Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, expressed Kuwait's appreciation for the support of the ICAO, its council's members and the Arab group, as reflecting international commitment to protecting civil aviation and safeguarding the safety and security of civilian facilities.
