Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) recently inaugurated its annual cultural programme, Devji BKS GCC Kalotsavam 2026.
The event, held at its premises in Segaya, commenced with a Pooja (prayer) dance. A traditional lamp lighting ceremony symbolised the beginning of the festivities.
BKS general secretary Varghese Karakkal welcomed the gathering, after which the group’s president, P V Radhakrishna Pillai, delivered the keynote address, emphasising the importance of cultural unity and active community engagement. Devji Group joint managing director Jaydeep Bharatji attended as chief guest and commended the organisers for their efforts in promoting cultural values and strengthening community bonds.
A felicitation address was delivered by BKS vice president Devadas Kunnath.
The Kalotsavam is an annual cultural festival that provides a platform for children to showcase their artistic and literary talents through a wide range of individual and group competitions across age categories. The first and second phase of the contests will run until May 7. Details of the programme’s third and fourth phase will be announced at a later date.
