BAHRAIN Olympic Committee (BOC) sports associations director Hesham Albeloshi and BOC sports association affairs head Fay Buallay continued the committee’s outreach to national sports federations with a number of field visits to various associations’ headquarters.
These are part of the BOC’s ongoing efforts to monitor their status, review operational progress, and assess their needs in light of current circumstances, with the aim of enhancing stability and supporting their continued development.
Their visits were made to the Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA), the Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA), the Bahrain Handball Federation (BHF), and the Bahrain Fencing Association.
The BOC also aims to enhance direct communication and supporting continuity of work and development efforts.
During the visits, Albeloshi conveyed the greetings of BOC secretary general Faris Al Kooheji and reaffirmed the BOC’s continued support for all federations.
At the BAA, Albeloshi and Buallay met with BAA president Mohammed bin Jalal. They discussed the BAA’s progress and future plans, alongside a review of technical and administrative issues and key challenges, with an emphasis on continuing efforts to improve athletes’ performance and achieve distinguished results.
At the BBA, talks with a number of federation officials focused on developing the sport and strengthening the BBA’s programmes, in addition to reviewing the association’s requirements in the coming period to enhance competitiveness and expand participation, in line with the growing interest in basketball in the kingdom.
At the BHF, Albeloshi reviewed the federation’s approved plans and programmes and discussed ways to build on their recent successes. Discussions also addressed mechanisms to support Bahrain’s handball national teams and ensure sustained development, enhancing their presence in regional and international competitions.
At the Bahrain Fencing Association, Albeloshi met with the federation’s president Shaikh Ibrahim bin Salman Al Khalifa, with whom he reviewed their programmes and development plans aimed at promoting the sport and expanding its participation base.
The meeting also addressed key challenges faced by the association, as well as its technical and administrative needs.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of nurturing young talent and enhancing its development to achieve positive results in upcoming competitions and strengthen the sport’s presence at both regional and international levels.
