The multi-phase project to update and reinvigorate Manama’s beloved King Faisal Corniche is proceeding according to plan, the Works Ministry stated.
Works Minister Ibrahim Al Hawaj and Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister Wael Al Mubarak visited the site of the 46,000 square metre project, located on the Manama Seafront, to inspect its progress.

Paths for walking, running and cycling, in addition to play areas, sports field, service buildings and green spaces are being built in the first phase.
“The project is part of continuous efforts to develop seafronts and recreational facilities in the capital,” Mr Al Mubarak said. “It aims to strengthen infrastructure, increase green spaces, develop parks and shore up the quality of services afforded to citizen and resident alike.”

According to Mr Al Hawaj, construction is going as planned, and both ministries are working together to execute a number of projects involving the development of infrastructure and providing services to all of Bahrain.
The GDN reported in March that the project, that stretches 1,400 metres and has a total budget of BD4.96 million, reached 10 per cent completion. It was approved by the Capital Trustees Board in 2023, and works began in December of that year.
