Medics had to remove the brooch after it ended up getting stuck in the oesophagus, a hollow, muscular tube that connects your throat to your stomach.
The procedure to remove it using an endoscope was carried out by Consultant Paediatric Surgeon and Urologist Dr Abdulrahman Al Shafei, who is based in Bahrain Defence Force Hospital and King Hamad University Hospital.
