BAHRAIN will continue to be an oasis of stability and a beacon of peace as well as a homeland of coexistence, tolerance and security for all its citizens and everyone who lives on its land, His Majesty King Hamad has said.
He affirmed that the kingdom will continue, through its civilised model and strong national resolve, to serve as a humanitarian reference point in the practice of religious freedoms and respect for diversity, while remaining a centre that upholds the values of Islam and its principles.
The King commended the government’s efforts, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in supporting the commemoration of Ashoora.
The government’s commitment to ensuring the success of this significant religious occasion by providing the necessary preparations and facilities also won royal praise.
Ashoora, with its unique character and spiritual significance, will remain the foremost expressions of the religious freedoms and sectarian diversity that have long characterised Bahrain, the King noted.
He commended the dedicated and integrated efforts of government bodies across various sectors, each within its respective responsibilities, in observing Ashoora.
His Majesty also praised the provision of all security and community services, and the support and oversight provided to ensure religious rituals are observed freely and with ease.
His Majesty praised the contributions of all institutions and individuals involved, particularly the Interior Ministry, the Islamic Endowments Affairs Council, religious scholars, ma’atam leaders, supervisory committees, and volunteer field teams.
This year’s commemoration was distinguished by the highest levels of order and organisation, reflecting Bahrain’s openness as an inclusive society where peace and coexistence prevail.
