The Bahrain Haj Mission has intensified its field and administrative preparations as pilgrims began arriving in Mecca.
The preparations are being carried out as part of an integrated system of health, security and organisational services aimed at ensuring the comfort and safety of pilgrims throughout their stay and movement between the holy sites.
Bahrain Haj Mission head Shaikh Adnan Al Qattan conducted inspection tours of the Bahraini pilgrims’ camps in Arafat to review site readiness and oversee the completion of preparations for the Day of Arafat and the Days of Tashreeq.
Operators of Bahraini Haj campaigns confirmed that the Mina and Arafat camps were handed over to them ahead of schedule, allowing sufficient time to complete service arrangements before the arrival of pilgrims.
They noted that the camps have been upgraded to high standards through co-ordination between the mission and the relevant authorities.
The improvements include enhanced tents, walkways and health facilities, in addition to the provision of cooling systems and amenities inside the camps to help pilgrims cope with high temperatures.
Campaign officials also highlighted a noticeable improvement this year in both organisation and the quality of services provided.
As part of transportation arrangements between the holy sites, the mission’s security committee has begun distributing train bracelets and entry permits to Bahraini campaigns and operators to facilitate the smooth movement of pilgrims between Arafat, Muzdalifah and Mina.
Meanwhile, the engineering planning committee said preparations began early this year and confirmed that electricity will be available at the Muzdalifah site for the first time.
Air-circulation fans have also been installed at several locations to further improve pilgrims’ comfort during their stay in the holy sites.
