BASKETBALL – Bahrain will be fielding their under-23 women’s and men’s 3x3 basketball national teams in stop one of Asia West/Pacific in the Fiba 3x3 Youth Nations League 2026.
This was confirmed yesterday by the Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA), following the announcement of participating nations made by the International Basketball Federation (Fiba).
The Asia West/Pacific competition will be held from August 20 to 26, with Bahrain being one of six nations taking part in both the women’s and men’s events.
The others are Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan, Australia, and hosts Singapore.
The Fiba 3x3 Youth Nations League is a national teams event designed by Fiba to develop the next generation of 3x3 basketball players.
Action is held in both under-23 and under-21 categories for both women and men, giving rising talent a competitive platform to gain international experience.
Other stops are being held all over the world, and the Bahrainis are competing in the event for the first time.
The Singapore tournament also acts as a qualification event for the Fiba 3x3 U23 World Cup, which is to be held in Hubei, China, from September 15 to 19.
