VOLLEYBALL – Bahrain’s senior men’s volleyball national team arrived yesterday in Ahmedabad, India to take part in the AVC Men’s Cup 2026.
The 12-nation tournament gets underway on Saturday and continues until June 28.
The Bahrainis are the competition’s defending champions, having captured the crown in last year’s edition held in the kingdom.
The nationals begin their title-defence competing in Pool A of the preliminary round, where they will face off with Chinese Taipei, New Zealand, Kazakhstan, Australia, and hosts India.
Pool B features Qatar, South Korea, Pakistan, Indonesia, Thailand, and Oman.
Bahrain are scheduled to face Chinese Taipei in their opening assignment on Saturday.
The preliminaries continue until Friday next week, setting the stage for the semi-finals and the concluding classification contests.
The kingdom’s delegation in Ahmedabad is headed by Bahrain Volleyball Association vice-president Mohammed Al Thawadi.
