A 52-year-old woman who recently travelled from South Sudan has been placed under isolation after presenting with Ebola-like symptoms in Kottayam, Kerala.
The woman visited a private hospital seeking treatment for a fever and vomiting. Considering her recent travel history, the state health department was immediately alerted, and she was moved to an isolation ward.
Authorities confirmed that the woman was travelling alone and was not accompanied by anyone else.
Her medical samples have been sent for testing, with the results expected to be released within 48 hours.
Health officials in Kottayam have already visited the homes of individuals who were in close contact with the patient and have placed them under quarantine.
