The Cabinet has conveyed its condolences to Saudi Arabia, its leadership, government and people, following the Saudi Aramco helicopter accident which killed 14 people.
Yesterday’s weekly meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa at Gudaibiya Palace.
The Cabinet extended its gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad following his commendation of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, during the Ashoora season.
It commended the efforts of the relevant authorities, led by the Interior Ministry, in making all the necessary preparations and providing the required facilities to ensure a successful Ashoora season.
The Cabinet praised the organisation and discipline demonstrated throughout the season, attributing its success to the significant efforts of the relevant government entities, led by the Interior Ministry, the Council of Islamic Endowments Affairs, distinguished scholars and clerics, heads of ma’atams, supervisory committees and volunteer field teams.
The Cabinet highlighted the importance of the two newly inaugurated Ramli electricity transmission stations, noting their contribution to the kingdom’s electricity infrastructure and their support for economic and urban development.
The Cabinet approved amending its regular meetings during July and August to a bi-weekly schedule.
It reviewed several memorandums submitted by ministers and ministerial committees, approving the following:
1. Bahrain’s contributions to several international organisations.
2. The revised version of an MoU between the governments of the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF), concerning anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing, as well as the amended rules and procedures governing the group’s operations.
3. An MoU between the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute and the British University.
4. The 2026-2030 National Health Strategy, which includes several initiatives aimed at further developing the healthcare sector.
5. The government’s responses to several proposals submitted by Parliament and draft laws submitted by the Shura Council.
The Cabinet also reviewed developments on the priorities of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning under the 2023-2026 Government Programme.
The Cabinet was briefed on reports regarding the outcomes of:
1. Bahrain’s participation in the 165th Ordinary Session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level.
2. The visit of the US Secretary of State to Bahrain.
3. The High-Level Conference on Coexistence and Inter-religious Diversity.
4. Bahrain’s participation in Saudi Water Week.
5. Bahrain’s participation in the GCC Health Ministers’ Committee regarding the strategic stockpiles.
6. The foreign participation of ministers and visits by ministers of various countries to Bahrain during July 2026.
