REHC’s Golden Jubilee marks 50 years since its establishment in 1977. This historic milestone reflects a distinguished journey of achievement and progress, underpinned by a rich heritage and a clear vision that has shaped REHC’s development over the past five decades.
Since 1977, REHC has established itself as one of the kingdom’s leading equestrian and horseracing institutions. The club has continued its distinguished journey of achievement and development under the continued patronage and support of His Majesty King Hamad, and the guidance and close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. This has contributed to strengthening REHC’s standing and further consolidating the kingdom’s position on the regional and international horseracing map.
Throughout its 50-year history, REHC has undergone successive phases of development and modernisation that have contributed to advancing horseracing in the kingdom.
The pace of progress has accelerated in recent years under the developmental vision led by Prime Minister’s Court Minister and REHC High Committee chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. This vision has delivered a significant leap forward in the development of horseracing and the attraction of leading international runners, most notably through the promotion of the Bahrain International Trophy to Group One status – an achievement that reflects the advanced position attained by Bahraini horseracing.
On the occasion of REHC’s 50th anniversary, REHC High Committee member and CEO Yusuf Buheji affirmed that the club’s Golden Jubilee represents a landmark milestone, providing an opportunity to reflect on a journey marked by achievement and progress. He noted that the continued support of His Majesty the King and the guidance of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, together with the support of the REHC High Committee chaired by Shaikh Isa, have contributed to remarkable progress in Bahraini horseracing and further strengthened its standing at every level.
Buheji affirmed that the club will continue to build on its achievements during the upcoming 2026-27 season by enhancing the organisational and competitive standards of local and international racing while further developing the accompanying events and activities. He also praised the prominent role played by REHC’s partners and sponsors, both within and outside the kingdom.
