Nearly 80% of construction work has been completed on the second package of its QAR4.5 billion ($1.3 billion) school development programme covering 14 schools across 10 strategic locations in the country, said a top official of Qatar's Public Works Authority (Ashghal).
Eng. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Meer, President of Ashghal, stated this after an inspection tour of the project site.
He reviewed the progress of construction works and the project's implementation phases.
During his visit, Al Meer was briefed on the projects and the advanced construction technologies being utilised, including 3D printing and modular construction techniques based on prefabricated structural systems and building modules.
These schools are being developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
