THE Arab Youth Day, observed annually on July 5, is an occasion to underline the importance of building a generation that believes in its capabilities, upholds its ambitions and recognises that the future of nations is shaped by will, determination and work, His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has said.
He said Bahrain’s achievements in supporting and empowering youth are based on the vision of His Majesty and the continued support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which have established a national approach that places people at the centre of development.
Shaikh Nasser said Arab youth possess the knowledge, capability and ambition to lead change and achieve progress, adding that the real challenge lies not in the size of available opportunities but in the level of ambition young people hold for themselves and their countries.
Shaikh Nasser said Bahrain continues to provide a supportive environment that enables young people to develop their capabilities, unlock their potential, and turn their ideas into initiatives and achievements that contribute to national progress.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa said Arab Youth Day is an occasion to celebrate the potential and achievements of Arab youth and recognise their role in shaping the future.
Shaikh Khalid said Arab youth are the true wealth of the Arab nation and a key driver of its development, stressing the importance of investing in their capabilities and providing an environment that enables them to realise their potential.
Youth Affairs Minister Rawan Tawfiqi said rapid global developments underscore the importance of investing in people by equipping young people with the knowledge, skills and opportunities needed to support continued development and achieve further progress.
She expressed pride in the achievements of Bahraini youth at the local, regional and international levels, saying they demonstrate the success of the kingdom’s approach to investing in and empowering young people.
