Egypt officially inaugurated "The Octagon," a state-of-the-art military headquarters in the country’s New Administrative Capital, on Saturday, July 4.
Opened by President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the sprawling complex is designed to serve as a central hub for military operations, strategic planning, and national crisis management.
Inspired by ancient Egyptian and Islamic architecture, the eight-sided facility features advanced digital systems, including artificial intelligence, to strengthen responses to cyber threats, emergencies, and evolving security challenges.
Officials say the headquarters, built entirely by Egyptian experts, is among the largest military command centres in the Middle East and Africa.
