The Kuwait Court of Appeals has upheld a ruling by a lower court to execute an Indian man for the premeditated murder of his wife following a marital dispute.
According to court records, the man bought a hammer from a scrapyard in Amghara and used it to hit his wife repeatedly, causing fatal injuries. He subsequently transported the body to the Salmi desert and dumped it there in an attempt to conceal his crime.
The Public Prosecution charged the man with premeditated murder and requested the maximum penalty. The Criminal Court initially sentenced the man to death, a verdict that has now been upheld by the Court of Appeals.
